Dennis Mattson

November 27, 1938 — March 18, 2013

Dennis Mattson, 74, a resident of Georgetown, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013 at his home. He was of the Church of God faith. Mr. Mattson was a retired electrician from DuPont Corporation after 37 years of service. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Vietnam War. He was a 32 degree Mason in the Birchwood Limestone Masonic Lodge # 176 F & AM and the Alhambra Shrine in Chattanooga. He was preceded in death by his parents, Signor Jones Mattson and Ollie Mae Miller Mattson; and brother, Frank Bartley Mattson. Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Wilma Mattson of Georgetown; children: Dennis Richard Mattson and wife Susie of Niota, Harold Jeffery Mattson of Athens, David Risenhoover and wife Sharon of Cleveland and Dean Risenhoover of Cleveland; grandchildren: Jonathan Mattson, Emily Mattson, Tamara Fisher, Matt Risenhoover and Marty Rishenhoover; sister, Mildred Sneed of Decatur; brother, Dairl Mattson and wife Frances of Georgetown; sister-in-law, Lois Mattson of Georgetown; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Clear Springs Cemetery in McMinn County with military honors. Matt Risenhoover, Marty Risenhoover, Chris Sneed, Bart Mattson, Brad Mattson and Steve Sneed will serve as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
