Ruth Prentice Ellison

Ruth Prentice Ellison, 85, a resident of Cleveland passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013 in a local hospital. Mrs. Ellison was retired from Magic Chef after 25 years of service and she was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ellison who passed away in 2009; parents, William L. Prentice and Lela May Moore; her son, Jerry Ellison, one brother, William Prentice; and two sisters, Grace Dobbins and Geneva Roberts. Survivors include her two children, Jim Ellison and his wife Vicki of Sherman, TX and Marilyn Jenkins and husband Dennis of Cleveland; eight grandchildren: J.B. Ellison, Rebecca Ruth Fisher, Stephanie King, Catalin Ellison, James Ellison, Brian Ellison, Donna Ellison and Christy Ellison; three sisters, Jean Slate of St. Louis, Missouri, Nell Bullard of Newport, Ark and Bet Weaver of Brownsville, TN; and several great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:-00 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Minister Kevin Teague officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Emery King, Nolan King, J.B. Ellison, Larry King, Richard King and Joe King serving as pallbearers. Hope King will serve as honorary pallbearer. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
