Gary W. Martin

Gary W. Martin, 59, a resident of Cleveland passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at his place of residence. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He received a B.S. degree from Tennessee Wesleyan College. Mr. Martin was retired from Magic Chef, Maytag and Whirlpool after 38 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt and Ruth Cavett Martin and his brother, Bryant Martin. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Debbie Martin of Cleveland; one daughter, Laurel Martin of Cleveland; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Frances Simpson of Cleveland; step father, Bill Locke of Etowah; two brothers, Rod Martin and Kim David Martin both of Cleveland; two uncles, Ray Cavett and Ronnie Cavett both of Benton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony. His family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
