Barbara Couch, 72, a lifelong resident of Cleveland passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013 at a local hospital. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all. If she knew you, she loved you and was praying for you. She was devoted to her three grandchildren and great grandson. Mrs. Couch was a member of the House of Prayer on Benton Pike. She worked in the interior design business. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Dorothy Burrell Ellis; grandson, Andrew Thomas Lambert; sister, Gwendolyn Guinn; and brothers, C.J. Ellis and Joe B. Ellis. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Thomas Wayne Couch; daughter, Tonya Fletcher and husband, Kenny of Sarasota, FL; two grandchildren, Tiffany Lambert and fiancé, Randy Bryant of Cleveland and Matti Claire Fletcher of Cleveland; one great grandchild, Cayden Johnson of Cleveland; six sisters and spouses, Sue Davis and J.C. of Benton, Billie Dunn and Paul of Claxton, Jimmie Jones and Larry of Cleveland, Marilyn Dalton and Carroll of Cleveland, Dorothy Faye Pace and Don of Charleston, and Juanette Defriece and Kenneth of Cleveland; two brothers and spouses, Claude Ellis of Cleveland and David Ellis and Cheri of Cleveland; sister in law, Louise Ellis of Cleveland, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Reverend Albert Ellis and Mary May officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
