William Allen Ledford, Jr.

William Alan Ledford, Jr., 80, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013 in a Chattanooga hospital. Mr. Ledford had lived most of his life in Cleveland and was of the Christian faith. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #4848 where served as Post Chaplain from 1997-1998 and he was also a member of the American Legion Post 95. He enjoyed watching TV, listening to music and bowling. He was preceded in death by his father, William Ledford and mother, Easter Mae Ledford Blackwell; sister, Bernice Roberts; brother, Jesse Ledford; and 2 nieces and 2 nephews. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Pat Howard Ledford of Cleveland; sons, Allan Ledford of Nashville, Carlos Darnell of Matthews, NC, Kenneth Darnell of Ayer, Mass., and Chris Hicks of Cleveland; daughters, Sue Cofer of Cleveland, Phyllis Ratliff of Randleman, NC, Margie Corbin of Asheboro, NC and Pamela Eberle of Cleveland; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2013 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Garden.
