Bruce Earl Ritchey, Jr.

July 13, 1935 — December 29, 2012

Bruce Earl Ritchey, Jr., 77, a resident of Cleveland passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 in a Chattanooga hospital. He was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed any outdoor adventure. Mr. Ritchey was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean War. He was employed with the local City and County law enforcement and later worked for Gulf Oil Company before retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce E. Ritchey, Sr., and Nellie Ritchey; and sister, Lila Elliott Umberger. Survivors include his wife, Norma Ritchey of Cleveland; daughters, Melissa Lewis and husband Bob of Chattanooga, and Ginger Starnes and Mike Terreall of Nashville; grandchildren, Sara Friedt and husband Matt, Kenneth Starnes, II and Casey Tinker; brothers-in-law, Steve Harvey and Neil Sartin; great-grandchildren, Katelyn Friedt and David Friedt and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors, officiated by the Reverend Ray Cheathem. His family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Fike Funeral Home.
