James Cissom

James B. "Jim" Cissom, 70, a lifelong resident of Cleveland passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012 in a local hospital. He was born June 17, 1942 to the late John William "Bill" and Annis Farmer Cissom. He was an International Union Representative of AFSCME. He was a veteran of the US Army and a graduate of Bradley Central High School, class of 1960. Jim was a member of Community Hall Church. He was preceded in death by his brother, John R. Cissom; sisters, Billie Forgey, Melva Rogers and Nancy Kibler. Survivors include his wife Jeannie Gregg Cissom; children, Reverend James A. "Tony" Cissom, Malonna Morgan and Valerie Stephenson and husband Jeffery; six grandchildren: Justin Cissom, Whitney Stephenson, Jacob Stephenson, Destiny Morgan, Allie Morgan and Maylea Morgan; brother, Jerry Cissom; special sister-in-law, Jimmie D. Cissom all of Cleveland; sister, Betty Cartwright and husband N.C. of Georgetown; aunt, Inez Higgins; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend James A. "Tony" Cissom and the Reverend Guinn Green officiating. Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. Bobby Cissom, Roger Cissom, Brandon Cissom, Sam Myers, Charles Gregg and Jon Lee will serve as pallbearers. His family will receive friends from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Fike Funeral Home.
