Donald G. Griffith, 82, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012 in a Chattanooga hospital. He was an owner/operator of Griffith Cycle Shop. His father, Howard Griffith started the Cleveland Griffith Cycle Shop in 1926. In 1956, Don opened another Griffith Cycle Shop in Chattanooga which continues today. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of Greens Lake Road Church of Christ. Don enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, R. Howard and Sally Walker Griffith; brother, Howard Griffith, Jr.; and sisters, Wilma Moore and Emma Gregg. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Faye Smithers Griffith of East Ridge; children, Terry Griffith and Garry Griffith and wife, Dava, all of East Ridge; five grandchildren, Crystal Rose Griffith, Korian Bradley, Jeff Griffith, Shelby Faye Griffith and Lindsey Griffith; and sister, Iva Watson of Cleveland. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2012 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Minister Reid Perry officiating. Interment will follow in the veteran's section of Fort Hill Cemetery with Glen Griffith, Tyler Davis, Evan Swafford, Ronnie Moore, Aaron Swafford and Eddy Davis serving as pallbearers.
