Harding "H.G." Gamble, 89, a resident of Cleveland passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012 in a local hospital. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He attended Washington Avenue Baptist Church and was a longtime barber in Cleveland. He joined Tennessee Enamel Company in Cleveland on October 16, 1939, and retired from Maytag Cooking Products 66 years later at the age of 82 ½ years. This is probably a record that will never be broken. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Mattie Blackwell Gamble. Survivors include his wife, Catherine Gamble of Cleveland; son, John Gamble and wife Pansy of Cleveland; grandsons, Shaw Gamble and Jackson Gamble; sisters, Florence Dorger of Covington, KY and Gladys Chambers of Charleston, SC; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 19, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Dr. Jay McCluskey officiating. Interment will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony.
