Aline Gobble, 101, a lifelong resident of Cleveland passed away suddenly Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the home of her daughter. She was the oldest member of Central Church of Christ. Mrs. Gobble was a homemaker; she loved gardening and enjoyed feeding her wild birds. She lived a full and productive life up until the end of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Gobble; parents, Jess and Nora Elkins Trotter; and great-grandson, Cody Smith. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Judy Gobble and daughter and son-in-law, Dolores and Harry Douglas all of Cleveland; 6 grandchildren: Tim Gobble and wife Christie, Steve Douglas and wife Kay, Tony Gobble and wife Ginger, Lisa Douglas Smith and husband Tucker, Taylor Gobble and wife Terra all of Cleveland and Tyler Gobble of Chattanooga; 10 great-grandchildren: Christopher Gobble, Courtney Gobble, Caitlyn Gobble, Megan Gobble, Michaela Gobble, Emma Gobble, Grey Gobble, Kaley Smith, Brent Douglas and Michael Ellis. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Minister Tom Harrison and Ted Gobble officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with Tim, Tony, Taylor and Tyler Gobble, Steve Douglas and Tucker Smith serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Central Church of Christ Mission Fund or to the American Heart Association.
