Alice M. Daley

Alice Kennedy Daley was born April 30, 1919 in Oscoda County, Michigan to Nettie and Norman Kennedy. She passed away October 28, 2012 at her daughter's home in Cleveland, TN. She married Collie Daley on June 6, 1942 in Rolla Missouri. She leaves her husband and two sons, William (Bonnie Pylman), David (Wendy Minor), a daughter, Tamea Daley, and four grandchildren, Chantel (Steve) Blamer, Allyson Moore, Donovan and Devan Daley, four great-grandchildren, Kaylea, Tayler, Scott and Wyatt Blamer and many cousins, nieces, nephews, students and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tonya Daley in 1980. Alice taught school for over 50 years. She loved many of the students as if they were her own children. She built relationships with her students that spanned six decades, many of whom have contacted her in the last few months. Some students that she taught in 1945 still talked to her frequently. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Ladd Springs Seventh Day Adventist Church (5860 Bates Pike, Cleveland, TN). The Memorial service with Pastor Peter Read officiating will follow at 4:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Ringgold Memorial Gardens in Georgia next to her daughter, Tonya. Fike Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
