William "Bill" Lewis Noel, Jr., 83, a resident of Cleveland passed away Monday, August 20, 2012 at his home. He had lived in Cleveland since 1996 and was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Mr. Noel was a veteran of the US Marines, serving during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and ball room dancing. He was preceded in death by his parents, William L. and Pearl Noel. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Noel of Cleveland; step-children, Sam Lloyd Bourne of Jackson, MS and Laura Diane Grieves of Tampa, FL; brothers, Al Noel (Etta) of Cleveland, Harvey Noel (Larue) of Ruther Glen, VA, Herbert Noel (Teresa) of Richmond, VA; sisters, Edith Hinson (Dave) of Whitestone, VA, Lillie Brinklow (Bobby) of Richmond, VA and Rosa Lee Young (Bob) of Richmond, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Father Joel Huffstetler officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors. Keith McAmis, Bill Cornett, Robert McCready, Steven Graham, Dustin Hysinger and Jimmy Noel will serve as pallbearers. Craig Parrish, Carter Purnell and Jack Murphy will serve as honorary pallbearers. His family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
