Lorene W. Reams

Lorene Whitaker Reams, 96, a resident of Georgetown, passed away on August 5, 2012, at Life Care's Garden Plaza Apartments. She was a member of Candies Creek Baptist Church, and a much beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was retired from Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company in Richmond, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 75 years, Kenneth Reams, Sr.; daughter, Doris Lee Reams Jones; her son-in-law Dr. F. Robert Jones, Jr.; her parents, Claude William Whitaker and Ada Bell Collins Whitaker; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include her son, Kenneth L. Reams, Jr., and his wife Linda; grandsons, Burley Christian Price, Jr., and Kenneth L. "Chip" Reams, III, and his wife Valda; great-granddaughters Rebekah Loraine Reams, Carolyn Victoria Reams, Melinda Elizabeth Reams, and Susan Matilda Reams; sisters, Betty Joe Simmons and Mary Ann Goodman; and also many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Dr. Jamison Work officiating. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2012, at Dale Memorial Park in Chesterfield, VA at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at the funeral home prior to the service. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Candies Creek Baptist Church, 294 Old Eureka Road, NW, Charleston, TN, 37310.
