James Anthony "Jim" Gordon, 58, a resident of Cleveland passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at his home. He was of the Christian faith. He was a retired auto mechanic and served in the U.S. Army for 6 years. He raced at Road Atlanta in the 1980's. He had a great love for history and was accomplished in wood carving of walking canes. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Bryan and Wilma Lois Gee Gordon and sister, Jean Gordon Price. He is survived by his sister, Judy Gordon Simpson and husband, Ricky of Cleveland; nephews, Jeff Price and wife, Denia of Cleveland, Shawn Price and wife, Misty of Benton, Corey Simpson, Kevin Simpson and wife, Jackie, all of Cleveland; nieces, Christina Price Allen, Tonya Price Ruprecht and Mercy Simpson all of Cleveland. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Mendel officiating. Interment with military honors will be on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. His family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 - 7:00 at the funeral home prior to the service.
