Joyce Coleman

Joyce Coleman, 59, a resident of Cleveland passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was a member of Candies Creek Baptist Church. She graduated from Bradley Central High School and Cleveland State Community College where she earned her CNA degree. She also attended Pensacola Academy of Christian Schools and Tennessee Wesleyan College under the young childhood development program. She taught at Calvary Christian School, Headstart and North Cleveland Baptist Preschool. She enjoyed outings with her sisters, trout fishing, cooking, teaching and reading. She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse W. Bunch; step-father, Robert Beaty and father-in-law, Pete Coleman. Survivors include her husband, Frizzell Coleman of Cleveland; mother, Dorothy Beaty of Georgetown; mother-in-law, Louise Stephens of Cleveland; children, Shane Coleman (Becky), Felicia McAlister (Jeremy) all of Charleston; five wonderful grandchildren, Pete Coleman, Tommy Coleman, Kadence McAlister and twins, Kelsey and Kimber McAlister all of Charleston; sisters, Carolyn Graham (Vernon) of Georgetown and Becky Proffitt (Loy) of Cleveland; brother, Doug Bunch (Janet) of Georgetown; step-sister, Sue Caywood (Terry) of Georgetown; step-brother, Snooks Beaty (Margie) of Section, AL; special uncle, Kenneth Bunch (Vera) of Decatur and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2011 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Reed Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Candies Creek Cemetery with Loy Proffitt, Phillip Clark, Jim Hughes, Andy Proffitt, David Ramsey, Jacob Wright, David Wright and Justin Jones serving as pallbearers. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony. The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
