Joe Pirkle

Joe Pirkle, 69, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011, in a local hospital. He was a Cantene member of the VFW and an honorary member of the American Legion. He was retired from Quinn Electric supply after 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Grant Pirkle and Martha Jo Duff Pirkle and his wife, Carolyn Austin Pirkle. He is survived by his children, Penny Farmer and husband, Steve of Knoxville and Grant Pirkle and wife, Danielle of Charleston; grandchildren, Jenifer Farmer Marks, Courtney Farmer, Skylar Pirkle, and Darby Pirkle; brothers and sisters, Anne Bolen of Knoxville, David Pirkle and wife, Jane , Becky Hamilton and Tommy and wife Karen Pirkle all of Cleveland. Several nieces and nephews, life-long friends Mackey and Linda Stepp and his beloved dog, Fred also survive. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 28, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 at Fike Funeral Home. A private family graveside will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Saturday, October 29, 2011.
