Jere Michelle Eagan, 56, of East Ridge, TN passed away Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Hospice of Chattanooga following a stroke. She was born August 18, 1955 in Cleveland, TN to Gerald V. Eagan and the late Peggy Lawson Eagan. Jere Michelle graduated from St. Francis High School in Morgantown, WV in 1973. She attended West Virginia University and received an Associate of Art degree from Cleveland State Community College in 1976. She held several jobs in the Cleveland, TN area, including front desk work at local motels and visual merchandising for Belk and Proffitt's Department Stores. She worked for a time as a self-employed artist and craftsperson. Prior to her death, she was employed by Jackson Furniture Company in Cleveland, TN. Her personal interests included crafting jewelry, crochet, needlework and reading. In addition to her father, she is survived by her step-mother, Shirley C. Eagan of Morgantown; two uncles, Dr. Jim G. (Joy) Lawson of Phoenix, Arizona and Clyde (Ruth) Lawson of Knoxville, TN; and several cousins. Family and friends will be received at Fike Funeral Home, 2415 N. Ocoee St, Cleveland, TN from 6-8 p.m. Monday, October 3. A graveside service with the Reverend Marshall Roberson officiating will be held at Fort Hill Cemetery, Cleveland at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 4.
