Shirley Shamblin

Shirley Shamblin, 68, a resident of Charleston passed Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at her home. She was a member of Council Baptist Church. She was retired from the Bradley County School systems with over 30 years of service. She was loved by her family and her grandchildren and will be missed by all. Singing was Shirley's passion. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Fain and Belva Henry Fain; husband, David Shamblin; infant son, Allen Shamblin. Survivors include her children, Shelia Guffey and her husband John of Cleveland, and Sharon Stafford of Cleveland; grandchildren, Chris Sanders, Jessica Sanders, Amanda Sanders, Jeff Guffey and Miranda Guffey and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 22, 2011 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Keith Watson officiating. Interment will follow the Riceville Cemetery with Randy Maiuri, Gary Shamblin, Russ Miller, David McAlister, Keith Cantrell, and David Calfee serving as pallbearers. Jeff Guffey will serve as honorary pallbearer. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
