L.C. Lay, 84, a resident of Cleveland passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2011 in a local healthcare facility. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army Aircorp where he served during World War II in Northern Africa. He and his late wife owned and operated Modern Television for 27 years. He was a charter member of the Cleveland Bass Masters Club. He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd Lay and Rosa Ellen Reynolds Lay; his wife Pauline Halburnt Lay and one sister Eunice Siler. He is survived by his children, Paula Weeks and husband, Mike of Cleveland, and Pamela Ary and husband, Steve of Fayetteville, TN; grandchildren, Eric Weeks and Jennifer Cole of Cleveland, Michele Thomason of Ooltewah, Patrick Ary of Fayetteville and Philip Ary of Clemmons, NC; great-grandchildren, Logan Weeks, Alivia Weeks, Cooper Weeks, Satchel Cole, and Elsie Cole all of Cleveland, and Riley Ary of Fayetteville and Lofton and Joshua Ary of Clemmons, NC. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, August 18, 2011 in Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Pastor Jim Caywood officiating.
