Nellie Randolph

August 9, 1940 — June 30, 2011

Nellie Randolph, 70, a former resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2011, at her Tennessee River Home in Meigs County. With grace and courage she fought a yearlong battle with cancer and peacefully passed surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Blanche Rymer and her sister Inez Scoggins. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Melvin Randolph; daughter, Sherry Payne and husband, Paul Payne of Decatur, TN; son, Terry Randolph and his wife Carolyn Randolph of Nashville, TN; 2 grandchildren, Randy Payne and his wife, Holly, Nicholas Payne and wife Tabitha; 4 great grandchildren that brought her so much joy, Logan Payne, Rayley Payne, Paisley Payne and Olivia Payne. She is also survived by her three sisters, Luria Beck, Billie Baker and Carolyn Hunt and brother Bobby Rymer. She was a special aunt to many nieces and nephews. She gave love unconditionally and was therefore loved by all. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2011, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Roger Watkins and Pastor Jeannie Cissom officiating. Interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery with Scott Rymer, Chuck Rymer, Bill Beck, Brad Hunt, Jeff Robertson, Brian Robertson, Josh Montgomery and Bruce Randolph serving as pallbearers. Bobby Vernon and Ronnie Robertson will serve as honorary pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the funeral home.
