Emma Durene Brewer

Emma Durene Brewer, 93, of Ten Mile, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011 in Renaissance Terrace Health Care in Harriman, TN. She was born December 20, 1917 in Bradley County. She was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Lee and Grace Myrtle Officer; husbands, B.F. Hawkins and Walter N. Brewer; daughter, Ester Mae Hawkins; four sisters, Blanch Mildred Officer, Anna Lea McClure, Ruby Lou Cox and Ophelia Jean McRae; grandson, Charles Anthony Murray. She is survived by her daughter, Linda F. Martin and husband, George Franklin; grandson, Steven Timothy Murray and wife, Cathy and two great grandchildren, Samuel Steven and Sarah Faye Murray all of Ten Mile. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Sam Melton officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made Macedonia Baptist Church, 3119 Spring Place Rd. Cleveland, TN 37323. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Fike Funeral Home prior to the service.
