Bessie Lois Simpson

April 19, 1923 — June 6, 2011

Bessie Lois Simpson, 88, a resident of Cleveland passed away Monday, June 6, 2011 in a local healthcare facility. She was a member of Unity Church of God. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Ashe; second husband, Reverend Yules Simpson. Survivors include her daughters, Betty Nicholson of Cleveland, Barbara J. Dunn(Ervin) of Cleveland and Jeannie Shipman(Johnny) of Cleveland; son, Jerry Ashe(Shelia) of Montgomery, AL; several step-children; grandchildren: Patrick Ashe, Timothy Scott, Jeff Scott, Rebecca Woodard, Lisa Dunn and Danny Morgan; several great grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Woods of Murphy, NC, Frances Anderson of Dalton, GA, Nancy Hedden of Dalton, GA, Geneva Worley of Forest Park, NC and Delores Guthrie of Murphy, NC; brother, David Dyer of Dalton, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Bill Beaty and The Reverend Mike Rester officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Tony Woodard, Coty Woodard, Chris Setters, Mike Walker, Doug Simpson and Derrick Litton serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
