Annel Mae Sliger

December 31, 1921 — June 1, 2011

Annel Mae Sliger, 89, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011 in a local hospital. She was a member of the New Prospect Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was formerly associated with First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Oak Ridge, where she was a charter member. She was preceded in death by her parents William Carl and Mamie Burrell and 5 brothers, J.L. Burrell, Coil Burrell, Melvin Burrell, Gerald Burrell and Boyce Burrell. She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Sliger of Cleveland; children, Jerry Ann Roberts and husband, Larry of Dalton, GA, and James Robert Sliger and wife, Gladys of Winchester; 5 grandchildren, Christina V. Crouch and Corey Roberts of Dalton, GA, Jeanette D. Berthelot and James Dale Sliger of Harvey, LA, and Pamela A. Sliger of Belvidere, TN; 2 sisters Loray Coffey of Ooltewah and Inez Crook of Buford, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Hullender officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Daryl Sliger, Dale Sliger, Corey Roberts, Bruce Wilson, Allen Sliger and Christopher Owens serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
