Edith Cox Mays, 95, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the home of her daughter. She had lived in Cleveland since January 30, 2008 attending Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Effie Cox; sisters Mayme Feathers and Ireene McLean; brothers, Paul, G.D. and Glen Cox all of Greenville and two sons-in-law, Billy D. Gardner and William E. Young. She is survived by her three daughters, Louise Verran and husband, Rev. Kevin Verran of Greenville, Carolyn Gardner of Cleveland, and Lynda Young of Alabama; grandsons and their families, Kirk and Eric Gardner of Cleveland, and Brad Gardner of Tunnel Hill, GA; one sister, Patsy Pates of Greenville and many nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Greenville Cumberland Presbyterian Church was her home church for 91 years. She loved her church and attended it regularly while she was able. Wesley United Methodist Church became her second church home. There will be no visitation or viewing in Cleveland. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Greene Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenville, TN with the Reverend Jamie Lively, the minister of Greenville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, officiating.
