Bobby Joe McGill

Bobby Joe McGill, 63, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, May 9, 2011 at in a Chattooga hospital. He was of Baptist faith and loved his family and his grandchildren, who were the pride of his life. Bobby worked for Whirlpool Manufacturing for 41 years of service. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army where he spent 2 years in Vietnam and he also served 23 years in the National Guard. Bobby was also an active member of the AMVETS Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Emma McGill and brother, Ralph "Chick" McGill. He is survived by his wife Kathy McGill of Cleveland; sons Jody McGill and wife, Shasta of Cleveland and Ryan McGill and wife, Christy of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; daughters, Tonya Wimpee and husband, Nathan of Cleveland and Alicia Rhodes of Pennsylvania; 3 grandchildren, Matthew and Taylor McGill of Missouri and Natalie Wimpee of Cleveland; brothers and sisters, Betty Davis, Mary Parker, Lorene Swafford, Dorothy Williamson, Della Rodie, Wanda Sue Hall and Walter Lee McGill. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 2:00p.m. in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
