Beatrice J. Brackett

Beatrice J. Brackett, 81, awoke in the face of Jesus on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Before her leaving, she had this testimony, that she was going to be with Jesus and wanted to go to her Heavenly Home. Bea reunited with her husband of 45 years, Elmer "Bunk" Brackett and her daughter of 5 weeks Barbara Sue Brackett. Her reunion also includes her father and mother, Creed and Lillian Bain, her sister, Myrtle Swafford, brothers, Buster, George, James and Billy Bain. She loved the Lord and her church, New Fellowship Baptist Church, which she attended since its beginning. She began working at 14 years old at the Sanda Hosiery Mill. Then moving on to Life Care Centers and then finally retiring at age 79 from Bradley Health Care after 15 years of service. She will be missed greatly by her daughter and son-in-law, the Reverend Steve and Shelia Davis; grandson, Duanne (Buddy) Davis and wife Tiffany and Brad and Brittany; very special great-grandson, Steven Davis and one great-great-grandson, Carson Robbins. Also missing her will be her brother, Wilburn Bain and sisters, Rose Mason, Wanda Massengil, and Gladys Earwood; sister-in-law, Katie Bain and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 2:00p.m. in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Cohulla Baptist Church Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
