Florence Hamilton Kaplan, 92, of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away Thursday, April 14, 2011 in Cleveland. She was a retired interior decorator who spent most of her career at Carpet and Drapery Fashions in Merritt Island, Florida, which she co-owned with her husband, Abe Kaplan. She lived her life with joy and a love for others. She enjoyed playing practical jokes, caring for her pets, building homes, music, and playing bridge with her friends. She was also a gracious hostess. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cleveland. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Abe Kaplan and Ezra Presswood; parents, William Brownlow Hamilton and Sallie Lawson Hamilton; brothers, Elbert Hamilton, Virgil Hamilton, Vaughn Hamilton, Shan Hamilton, J.B. Hamilton, and William Hamilton; sisters, Margaret Tatum, Mae Ragsdale, Dossie Hamilton, and Marie Ellis. She was the last surviving child of William and Sallie Hamilton. She is survived by her son Jim Presswood, Sr. and wife Phyllis, grandsons Jim Presswood, Jr. and wife Janet, John Presswood, Daniel Presswood and wife Bunnie, and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will meet at Fike Funeral Home and depart at 10:30 A.M. for the service, which will be officiated by Reverend Drew Henry.
