Frances McClanahan

Frances Barger McClanahan, 93, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the family residence. She was the oldest member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church and was a retiree of Duracell Company. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe McClanahan, Sr.; parents, Frank and Maggie Barger; brothers, J.R. Barger, Alvin Barger, Edwin Barger and Johnny Barger; sisters, Jewell Gobble, Dorothy McClanahan and Jean Wainwright. She is survived by her sons, Joe (Martha) McClanahan, Jr., Tony (Nancy) McClanahan, Johnny (Kaye) McClanahan; daughters, Helen Martin and Patsy (Terry) Beaty all of Cleveland; grandchildren, Kim (Brad)Peters of Knoxville, Tracy Keller of Cleveland, Stacy(Wendy) Beaty of Cleveland, Travis (Brooke) McClanahan of Georgia, Holly(Nathan) Roark of N.C., Kelly McClanahan of Colorado, Amber McClanahan of Mass.; eleven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; brothers, Clifford (Patsy) Barger, Jimmy (Evelyn) Barger; brother-in-law, Lynn Gobble; sisters-in-law, Nell Barger and Judy Barger and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Mt. Zion Methodist Church with the Reverend Mark Barber officiating. Interment will follow in the Barger Cemetery with nephews and grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday April 12, 2011 at Fike Funeral Home.
