Juanita I. Harris Varnell, 83, a resident of Cleveland passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011 at her home. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a very hard worker and enjoyed gardening. Juanita was a very honorable woman and she loved her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; David and Beatrice Longwith Wilson; husband, James "Jim" Edgar Varnell and great grandson, Hunter Haney. Survivors include her daughter Pam Duggan and husband Allan of Etowah; son, Jimmy Varnell of Charleston; grandchildren: David (Shannon) Duggan of Etowah, Misty (David) Haney of Cleveland, Kevin (Dhea) Duggan of Riceville, Adam (Ashley) Duggan of Knoxville, Timothy Duggan of Etowah, Bryan (Mayemma) Duggan of Knoxville, Nikki (Harmon) Varnell of Old Fort and 11 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in the Council Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend R.L. Pritcher officiating. David Duggan, Kevin Duggan, Adam Duggan, Bryan Duggan, Timothy Duggan, David Haney and Harmon Harden will serve as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
