Gene A. Hunter

Gene A. Hunter, 78, a longtime resident of Bradley County passed away Friday, February 4, 2011. He was of the Baptist Faith. He retired from Hunter Trucking Company after 40 years as a truck driver. Gene was a hard worker and a very talented handy man. He loved his children very much. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ora Lee Peter; brother, Donald Coe; grandparents, Fletcher and Artie Brewer. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Benjie Pope, Christina and Duane Moller; sister and brother-in-law, Charlene and David Hamilton; grandchildren: Jacob Pope, Justin, Tyler, Breanna and Haley Moller; sister-in-law, Carol Coe and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 6, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Jack Epperson officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Matt Yarber, Tyler Moller, Justin Moller, David Higgins, Chris Pope, Donnie Simonds, Kevin Seal and Dale Jenkins serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
