Elizabeth Ann Raimond

Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Saulpaw Raimond, 83, of Calhoun passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 22, 2011in a local healthcare facility from Alzheimer's disease. She was a Christian and is now at peace with the Lord. Betty was born January 11, 1928 in McMinn County. Her grandfather, Karl D. Saulpaw actually founded the city of Calhoun, where she spent most of her life. Mrs. Raimond was an LPN at Bradley Memorial Hospital for over 20 years; she loved and enjoyed her work. Betty loved her family and they all loved her. We were all truly blessed to have her for a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She will be missed terribly by her family and those who knew her as a friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl Saulpaw and Minnie Elizabeth Wright Saulpaw; brothers, Karl D., II, Bernard, Jack, George and Pete; sisters, Zillah and Hattie. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and D.J. Hardin of Calhoun and Beth and Tom Gandy of Texarkana, Texas; grandchildren, US Army Captain Richard Jacob, Christian Jacob, Cindy Davis, Rachel Gregory and Chris Hardin; great grandchildren, Austin Burgess, Danielle Mooney, Tate Davis, Tessa Hall, Samuel Lowe, Coleman Gregory, Alana Gregory and Zachary Hardin; great- great grandchild, Lilly Johns; sister, Dorothy Brown of Knoxville and sister-in-law, Dottie Saulpaw of Knoxville. Memorial services to celebrate Betty's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011 in the Chapel of the Bradley Healthcare and Rehab Center.
