Phyllis Carole Ramsey

Phyllis Carole Ramsey, 72, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010 at a local hospital. She was a former manager of the Homestead Inn in Athens and former executive secretary at Permna Color Lab. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Franklin Ramsey, Sr.; parents, T. C. and Tommie Elkins; son, David Lawrence Ramsey; and brother, Lawrence N. Elkins. She is survived by her children, Don Ramsey, M.D. and wife, Sarah of Knoxville and Pamela K. Ramsey of Cleveland and granddaughter, Samantha Michelle Ramsey of Knoxville. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Minister Ted Gobble officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and from 12:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service on Monday.
