Kate Q. Stanley

Kate Stanley, 97, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010 in a local healthcare facility. She was a graduate of Charleston High School where she played basketball from 1932-1933. She was a member of East Cleveland Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Phillip Augustus Qualls and Bell Qualls. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J. C. Stanley and stepson, Jack Stanley. She is survived by her sons, Phillip Stanley of Athens, Don Stanley and wife, Wilma of Calhoun and Larry Stanley and wife, Brenda of Cumming, GA and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 17, 2010 at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Frank Nolan officiating. Family members will serve as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Fike Funeral Home.
