Billy M. Crittenden, 68, resident of Chattanooga and formally of Cleveland died peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, November 23, 2010. He accepted Christ at a young age and was a long time member of the Baptist Church. While serving in the military, he was stationed in Frankfort, Germany where he developed a love for the scenery, food and Hummel art pieces. He loved helping others; his favorite scripture was Psalms 41: 1. He will be greatly missed by his sister and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William T. and Rachel Johnson Crittenden; grandparents; Lee and Sarah Johnson and Abraham and Altha Crittenden; brother Fred W. Crittenden; sister and brother-in-law, Mack and Lillian Coile and brother-in-law, Carlin Crabtree. Survivors include his sister, Pat Crabtree of Riceville; nephews and their spouses, David and Cathy Coile of Cleveland, David and Mary Crabtree of Riceville; nieces, Jeannie Coile, Janet Bunch and husband Doug, Teresa Metaxas and husband Chris, Donna Marshall and husband Michael, Lonna Gattenby and husband Glen, and Lynette Crabtree; great nieces: Wendy Barick and husband Kryss, Jennifer Evett and husband Chad, April Coile and husband Tom Wilson and Tiffany Bunch; great nephews: Nickolas Coile and wife Linda, Alexander Metaxas, Ben Bunch and Andrew Marshall; great great nephews, Chase and Caleb Evett. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2010 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend William Coile and the Reverend Glen Gattenby officiating. Interment will follow in the Eastanallee Baptist Church Cemetery in McMinn County with David Crabtree, David Coile, Doug Bunch, Michael Marshall, Kryss Barick, Chad Evett, Christopher Metaxas and Kenny Liner serving as pallbearers. Alexander Metaxas, Ben Bunch, Andrew Marshall, Chase and Caleb Evett will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
