Betty Carson, 86, of Georgetown, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2010 at her residence. She was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Decatur. Her hobby was crocheting. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Carson; parents, Monroe and Addie Glossup Smith; son, Ernie Carson; four brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her children, John Wayne Carson, Jr. and wife, Misty of Georgetown and Tricia Carson and husband, Bob Perkins of Johns Creek, GA; daughter-in-law, Pat Carson; four grandchildren, J. C. Carson and wife, Marla, Joseph Johnson and wife, Sabrina, Cherokee Johnson and Robby Perkins; two great grandchildren, J. J. Carson and Anna Carson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Jimmy Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Johnston Cemetery in Georgetown with J. C. Carson, Joseph Johnson, Alex Morrison, Wallace Meyers, Bobby Perkins and Robby Perkins serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
