Helen Elizabeth Suits

Helen Elizabeth Pierce Suits, 81, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 in a local hospital. She was the eighth of eleven children born to the late Luther Lane and Alice McCamish Pierce. A native of Calhoun, she attended Calhoun Schools while growing up on the family homeplace. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Katherine Waldron and Esther Myers and brothers, Taylor Pierce and Pat Pierce. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, DeWitt Suits of Cleveland; five children, Delores Driver of Cleveland, Deborah Johnson of Knoxville, Daphne Graham of Tullahoma, Regina Simmons of Suwanee, GA and Reggie Suits of Ooltewah; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Johnson and Evelyn Wilkinson, both of Barberton, OH, Francis Davey of Cleveland and Jo Ann Pierce of Chattanooga; and brothers, Owen Pierce and Mike Pierce, both of Cleveland. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 13, 2010 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Reverend Frank Nolan officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Fike Funeral Home.
