Martha Bernice Roberts

Martha Bernice Roberts, 84, of Charleston, passed away June 28, 2010 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was of the Christian faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She knew no strangers and had a big hug for everyone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Paul Roberts; two children: Sharon Annette Feagans and William Michael Roberts; parents, William and Esther Pryor Ledford; and brother, Jesse Ledford. Survivors include seven children: Martha Edwards and husband, Mark of Charleston; Don Roberts and wife, Ida of Riceville; Wayne Roberts of Charleston; Daniel Roberts and wife, Vonnie of Calhoun; Timmy Roberts of Charleston; Evonne Harper of Riceville and Louella Roberts of Calhoun; fourteen grandchildren: Ryan Edwards, Darrie Pierce, Ashley Edwards, Christy Roberts, Kevin Harper, Chasity Winkler, Brittney Evans, Josh Roberts and Misty Roberts; Hannah Roberts, Chamas Roberts, Jacob Roberts, Jadyn Roberts and Danny Roberts; fourteen great grandchildren; and one brother, William Ledford or Cleveland and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a-.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with grandsons; Ryan Edwards, Ashley Edwards, Josh Roberts, Danny Roberts, Kevin Harper and grandson-in-law, David Winkler serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the funeral home.
