Wayne Gatlin

November 30, 1937 — June 20, 2010

Wayne Gatlin, 72, a lifelong resident of Cleveland passed away Sunday, June 20, 2010 in a local healthcare facility with his two loving daughters at his side. He was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church and was also a member of Local Union I.B.E.W. 175. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Wayne was a well known electrician in the Cleveland area. He was a very kind and loving person, once you met Wayne you had a friend for life. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandson. He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Elbert Gatlin, mother, Ola Mae Gatlin Brown; step-father, James Archie Brown and brother, Robert Gatlin. Survivors include his daughters, Melissa Sharp and husband Dea of Cleveland and Karen Gatlin and Albert Barber of Chattanooga; brother, Jim Gatlin and wife Ann of Cleveland; sister, Ann Gatlin Mason of Mississippi; grandson, Brandon Sharp; step-son, Jerry Fox and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Danny Wilson and the Reverend Richard McKeeham officiating. Interment will follow in the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
