Joe G. Lillard, 85, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010. He was retired from Cleveland Enamel Plant and Maytag as supervisor of maintenance of machinery. He served with the United States Army during World War II in Germany. He was a member of Big Spring United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Sue Lillard; brothers, Melvin Lillard, George B. Lillard, and Ted Lillard; and sisters, Geraldine Brock, Nancy Lillard and Rachel Lillard. He is survived by one sister, Sue Posey of Cleveland; one brother, D.G. Lillard, Jr. and wife, Peggy of Cleveland; sisters-in-law, Eileen Lillard and Betty Lillard, both of Cleveland and Doris Lillard of Huntsville, AL; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2010 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Frank Nolen and the Reverend Lyle White officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with military honors.Danny Lillard, Kevin Lillard, Bobby Lillard, Bryan Stevison, Jamie Stevison and Mark James will serve as pallbearers. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony. His family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
