Robert Hal Ownby, 57, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010 in a local hospital. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Hal demonstrated a notable gentleness in demeanor toward all people. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee, class of 1974. He was a partner in the CPA firm Harris, Williamson, Trewhitt and Ownby. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ora and Jessie Lou Heifner Ownby and sister, Ruth Richardson. Survivors include his wife, Mitzi Ownby ; sons, Brock Ownby and Keith Hooper; daughter, Natalie Holder and husband, Cory; granddaughter, Lucy Grace Holder; brother, Jake Smith and wife, Mary all of Cleveland; sisters, Deanna Dooly and husband, Philip of Andrews, NC, Jo Ann Young and husband Chunky of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon Friday, April 9, 2010 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Sammy Hooker officiating. James Johnson, Tony Logan, Mark Dooly, John Smith, Mickey Barber, Troy Copeland, Steve Kirkpatrick and Ronnie Whaley will serve as honorary pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010 at the funeral home.
