Gene A. Prock, 75, a resident of Cleveland passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010 at his residence. He was a member of Four Point Baptist Church. Mr. Prock retired from Bowater Corporation after 23 years as drum operator. He was a ham operator and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, John B. Prock and Beulah E. Nichols Prock and brother, Jimmy Prock. Survivors include his wife Ella Prock of Cleveland; son, Johnny Lee Prock of Cleveland; daughters: Kathy Gamble, Rodna Blankenship, Sherry Acker and Karen Prock all of Cleveland; 6 grandchildren: Scotty Payne, Michael Blankenship, Amber Daspain, Ashley Nichole Acker, Kelly Ooten and Justin Smith; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Marshall Roberson officiating. Interment will follow in New Friendship Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
