Marian Frances Roark, 86, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2009 in a local hospital. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church and loved her church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Freeman and Bertha Griffith Rice and her husband of 43 years, Zane Grey Roark, brothers, Clyde Rice and Virgil Rice; sisters, Nell Filyaw and Juanita Moore and nieces, Barbara Kirtland and Wilma Holt. Survivors include her nieces: Joan Rice Gray of Dayton, Sandra Rice Burger, Janice Filyaw Smith both of Cleveland; nephews: Doyle Rice, Bill Rice, Ronald Moore, Eddie Rice, Alan Filyaw all of Cleveland, Jack Moore of California, Jim Filyaw of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; special friend, Betty Lawson and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 26, 2009 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Higgins officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Tony Moore, Phillip Owenby, Travis Armstrong, Russell Filyaw, Chris Smith and Jason Smith serving as pallbearers. Zane Moore will serve as honorary pallbearer. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, December 25, 2009 at the funeral home.
