Daniel Orr, 72, a lifelong resident of Cleveland died December 19, 2009 with his family by his side at his home. He was a member of Big Spring Baptist Church where he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at the age of twelve. He read the Bible through every year for the last several years. Danny had the privilege of doing the church sign for 17 years. Danny loved his children and grand children and was a very good husband, father and grandfather; he will be missed by his family. He served with the United States Army. He taught school at Bradley High School for three years and later retired from the Social Security Administration after thirty years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Jewell Orr. He is survived by his wife Janice Orr of Cleveland; sons: Jay Whitney Orr and wife Carmen of Cleveland, Trevis Martin Orr and wife Sigrid of Brooklyn, New York; grandchildren: Jake, Caine and Olivia all of Cleveland, Lux, Ava and ILA all of Brooklyn, New York; brother and friend, Jack Orr. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2009 in the Chestuee Cemetery with Reverend George Bulson officiating. David Thomas, Robert Mullis, John Myers, Clarence Brickman, Tony Jenkins and Jerry Neeley will serve as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
