Dennis E. McCurry

Dennis E. McCurry, 68, a resident of Cleveland passed away Sunday, October 25, 2009 in a Cleveland hospital. He was an electrical engineer with TVA for 35 years. He also served in the United States Navy. He was a member of North Cleveland Baptist Church. His hobbies included photography and working with stained glass. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Robert McCurry and Daisie Pauline Carroll McCurry; brother, Glenn Haskell McCurry; and sister, Carolyn Delores McCurry. He is survived by his wife, Deana Ricks McCurry of Cleveland; children, Amy Byrd and husband, Albert of Jacksonville, FL and Jamie McCurry of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Andrew William Byrd and Matthew Aaron Byrd, both of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Bernice Scribner of Galatin, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 27, 2009 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Jay McCluskey and Pastor Albert Byrd officiating. Interment will be held in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Riceville on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with military honors. Steve Thomas, Jack Callahan, Jim Rose, Gerald Brooks, Bob Bratton and Bill Bates will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the funeral home prior to the service.
