Warren G. Burk

Warren G. Burk, 88, a lifelong resident of Cleveland passed away Friday, October 2, 2009 at his home. He was a local farmer and a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Ross P. Burk and Mary Eliza Riggs Burk; he was also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ola Mae Dunn Burk; brothers: Fletcher Burk, Vernon Burk, Hall Burk and Ross Burk; sisters: Grace Jones, Nell Johnson and Fern Hancock Jordan and granddaughter, Sherry Burk Garvich. He is survived by his sons: George Burk and wife Lana of Cleveland, Dwight Burke and wife Jo Ann of Charleston; daughters: Phyllis Burk Ingle Suits and Mary R. Burk Bagley and husband Charles all of Cleveland; grandchildren: Warren D. Burke II, Geremy Burke, Stephanie Burke, Donnie Burk , Julie Ingle Painter all of Cleveland, William Burk of Cartersville, GA, Nannette Burk Ivey of Jellico, TN, Joshua D. Ingle of Rossville, GA, and Martin Swany of Newark, Delaware; 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2009 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerry Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery with Geremy Burke, Warren Burke, William Burk, Donnie Burk, Joshua D. Ingle and Justin Painter serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2009 at the funeral home.
