Hayden Milburn Lacy, 90, a resident of Bradley County passed away Sunday, September 20, 2009 at his home in the Valley View community. He was born November 15, 1918 to the late William F. and Lora Collett Lacy. After serving in the military with the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant, he returned to Cleveland and worked at Brown's Stove Works, Burlington Woolens and Schering Plough until his retirement. Active in the Valley View community, he was an involved member of the Cedar Springs Baptist Church and a charter member of the Valley View Ruritan Club where he remained active until recently. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister China Lacy. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ita Ball Lacy; daughter, Carolyn Lacy Goins and her husband, James R. Goins; two grandchildren: Mark R. Goins and his wife, Glenda McPeake Goins of Ringgold, GA and Lacy Goins Tite and her husband, Stephen N. Tite of Nashville; one great grandchild; Sarah Bennett Goins of Ringgold , GA; brother, Jasper Lacy of Lake Forest, IL; one aunt, Leola Collett Wrinkle of Cleveland; two sisters-in-law: Anna Ball White and Essie Ball Cox both of Cleveland; one brother-in-law, Walter F. Ball of Cleveland and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 11 A. M. Wednesday, September 23, 2009 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Eddie Hooker and Dr. Jay McCluskey officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Springs Cemetery with Gene Cox, Gary Ball, Ronnie Ball, Joel Cox and Terry Calfee all of Cleveland and John Foy of Chattanooga serving as pallbearers. The Adult Men's Sunday School Class of Cedar Springs Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5-8 P.M. Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the funeral home.
