Millard Sutton

March 9, 1935 — August 31, 2009

Millard "Tip" Sutton, 74, a resident of Cleveland, passed away August 31, 2009 at the family home. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a well known general contractor in the Bradley County area for thirty-eight years and an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Sutton and Litha McMahan Sutton; sisters, Margie Key and Myrtle Wade and brother, Ted Sutton. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Inez "Shorty" Sutton; daughter, Wilma Sutton; son and daughter-in-law, Danny Sutton and Brenda all of Cleveland; four grandchildren: Tracey Cash and husband, Brandon, Camill Howard and husband, Robbie, Katlin Sutton and Dylan Traffanstedt; one great grandchild, Knox Cash; brother, Wallace Sutton and sister, Marydale Kilgore both of Cohutta, GA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2009 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend James Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with military honors. Stanley Sutton, Johnny Clark, Scotty Kilgore, Herman Myers, Jimmy Barker and Darrell Williams will serve as pallbearers and Danny Killgore will serve as an honorary pallbearer. A white dove release will conclude the service. His family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at the funeral home.
