Carl Fryar, 80, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at the family residence. He was of the Church of God faith and a well-known carpenter in this area. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Fryar on July 29, 2009; son, Randy Fryar; parents, Andrew L. Fryar and Lena Smith Fryar and sister, Delia McDaniel. Survivors include his daughter, Brenda Lee Holder and husband, Eddie; two grandchildren: Kris Holder and wife, Andrea, Cory Holder and wife, Natalie; two great grandchildren: Blake Holder and Lucy Holder all of Cleveland; and special nephews: Russell Kesley, Roy Kesley, Kenneth Kesley and Wayne Kesley. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon on Friday, August 14, 2009 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Fred Smith and the Reverend Don Stovall officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors and a white dove release ceremony. Kris Holder, Cory Holder, Larry Sliger, Mike Sliger, Robbie Pate and Kasey Lawson will serve as pallbearers.
