Charles Larry Ray, 60, a resident of Hayesville, NC and formerly of Cleveland passed away, Saturday, August 8, 2009 in an Atlanta, GA hospital. He was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga and was a graduate of the Copper Basin class of 1967. He was employed as a draftsman with Ted F. Duggan & Sons in Chattanooga and was also a knife and stamp collector. He was preceded in death by his parents Hoyt and Sarah Roper Ray. Survivors include one sister, Judy Green and husband Gary of Georgetown, TN; special aunt and uncle, Yvonne and Ed Andrews of Hayesville, NC and several other aunts and uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2009 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Homer Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Gary Green, Ed Andrews, Robert Lario, Ray Roper and Dr. Wayne Fain will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
