Betty Jo Fryar, 75, a resident of Cleveland passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009 in a local hospital. She was of the Church of God faith. She was employed with Scott's Furniture for 20 years prior to her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents; Leamon Vernon Sliger and Laura H. Steakly Sliger; son, Randy Fryar. She is survived by her husband of 60, years, Carl R. Fryar of Cleveland; daughter, Brenda Lee Holder and husband Eddie of Cleveland; grandchildren, Kris Holder and wife Audrea of Cleveland and Cory Holder and wife Natalie of Cleveland; great grandchildren, Blake Holder and Lucy Holder of Cleveland; brothers, Vernon Sliger and wife Carolyn of Chattanooga and Larry Sliger and wife Ruth of Chattanooga and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2009 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Don Stovall officiating. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 3, 2009 in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Kris Holder, Cory Holder, Frank Park, Larry Sliger, Mike Sliger and Robbie Pate serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2009 prior to the service at the funeral home.
